Cheap Wireless Remote Controls
Wireless communication can be defined as the movement of data or information from one point to another without using any cord or cable. Data or information is transferred over the air in the form of special types of rays known as electromagnetic waves. These electromagnetic waves are a fundamental part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is present in the atmosphere. Before transferring the data or information is encoded in special codes at the sender’s point and then it is transferred and decoded to its original form at receiver’s end. Nowadays most of the people are use this wireless technology in their daily lives without knowing any thing about electromagnetic waves and wireless technology.
The working of a wireless device such as a remote control is that the wireless remote control sends a signal to establish a communication link to a television or any other devices from a distance. The use of wireless remote control is to change channels on TV, increase or decrease volume as desired. The signal that is produced by the remote control is because of an IR (infrared) transmitter, and the television or the stereo has a built-in IR receiver that enables one-way communication of data.
Nikola Tesla invented the earliest wireless remote control in 1893. In the year 1932 first ever remote controlled model aeroplane flew, and then during Second World War remote control technology worked intensively for military purposes German Wasserfall missile is the biggest example of this technology. A number of ratio set manufacturers offered remote controls with their latest models by the late 1930s most of these controls were connected by wires with the ratio set, but then in 1939 first ever wireless remote control was invented known as the Philco Mystery Control, it was a low frequency battery operated radio transmitter.
The first ever wireless television control known as Flashmatic was invented in 1995.This wireless remote control worked by shining a beam of light onto a photoelectric cell which is placed on the television set. The biggest disadvantage with this wireless remote control is that it cannot distinguish between the light from the wireless remote control and the light from any other source and the cell also required that the wireless remote control be pointed exactly at the cell. Then in the late 1970s more complex type of wireless television remote controls were invented these controls had a limited number of functions some times as few as three functions i.e. mute, next channel, previous channel. Nowadays there are many electronic companies such as Panasonic, Sony, National, view sonic and LG are offering different types of wireless remote controls with their appliances like TV, CD ROM, CD players etc.
There are issues with using wireless devices as a means of communication due to the range that is available for them. For instance home telephones that are equipped with a wireless handset have a more limited range than cellular phones. To reduce such a problem industries have established wireless connectors that would enhance the signal and would serve as a means to reduce the risk of data loss.
